King County Children's Mental Health PlanIn 2005, the King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency Services Division (MHCADSD), in concert with service providers, family members and other key stakeholders developed and published a Children's Mental Health Plan. the Plan is meant to guide the county MHCADSD, its service providers, consumers, and allied agencies in the development of policy, programming, service delivery, and quality management for publicly funded children's mental health services. The Plan incorporates federal, state, and local mental health system changes, including the emphasis on recovery oriented services and system of care practices. The Children's Mental Health Plan utilizes the experience of the last 15 years in the King County system of care community and attempts to operationalize core guiding principles into all levels of the mental health system. It was developed by MHCADSD to reflect the fact that the well-being of children, youth and their families is a priority to King County. With this plan, MHCADSD commits to a renewed emphasis on caring for children, youth, and their families and to implementing effective responses to help them. To read a copy of their plan, see below:
