Submit a Tour Request

Tour Requests

If you would like to take a tour of the National Weather Service office in Portland, you may now make a tour request online. Simply take a moment to read over our tour guidelines before filling out the form below.

Note: These guidelines are not "set in stone." If you are unsure about whether or not your group/situation fits the guidelines, please go ahead and submit your request and we will contact you to discuss your circumstances in further detail.

Tour Guidelines for the NWS Portland, OR

Group sizes and age

  • Group sizes should be limited to a maximum of 30 people
       (groups larger than 30 will be addressed on a case by case basis)
  • The grade level of tour participants should be 3rd grade or older

Times

  • Tours will typically be conducted during normal business hours
       Monday - Friday, roughly between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm
  • Tours are usually between 30 and 45 minutes in length. However, based on the needs
    of your group, timing can possibly be adjusted
  • Evening and weekend tours are discouraged, but may be pre-schedule with adequate notice

Loose Ends

  • Remember, this is not a reservation, only a request. The tour focal point will contact you, either by phone or email, once your request has been submitted to finalize a date/time for for your tour.
  • Tour requests made within 4 weeks of the requested tour date may or may not be accommodated due to staff availability.
  • A visitor pass will be given to the designated group leader, and all persons (18 and older) participating in the tour may be required to sign in at the front desk.
  • Should a significant weather event arise, any given tour may have to be rescheduled. In this situation we will try our best to contact you, however you should try and take a moment to contact the office as well to ensure that your tour is still scheduled.
