Briefing: Center for Innovation at Arlington    (4 pages)
Premise Arlington is located at the center of North Texas, the fourth most populous region in America, with more than six million people, boasting the largest technology trained workforce in the U.S. other than Silicon Valley.  Currently, 27 four-year colleges and universities serve the region; however, no single university has emerged as a primary driver of “tech transfer”.  Given UT Arlington’s emergence as a comprehensive research university, its Centers of Excellence, and large and diverse student body, we believe we are uniquely positioned to serve as a primary driver in the economic evolution of North Texas.  Our premise is that UT Arlington has already taken significant strides, and is positioned to undertake that role in our region.
