- Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) www.alpfa.org
Established in 1972, ALPFA is the oldest national Latino Professional Association dedicated to enhancing opportunities for CPAs, accountants, finance and related professionals, and students while expanding Latino leadership in the global workface. ALPFA expands opportunities for students who seek careers in Accounting, Finance and related fields of business by empowering them to develop as leaders through the management of student chapters (over 40 student chapters/alliances nationwide), delivering quality student programs focused on professional development, providing access to our industry network of professional members and sponsors, offering access to scholarship programs and creating opportunities to network with other students.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) have formed a strategic alliance to ensure Hispanic youth are on track to secure a college education. This innovative alliance offers college scholarship opportunities for Club members participating in the BGCA Latino Outreach Initiative. Working with both parents and young people, the alliance reinforces the message that entering and graduating from college are very achievable goals. Most importantly, the HSF/BGCA partnership addresses the fact that securing a college education is critical to a successful future.

Since 2004 the two organizations have united with the goal of promoting academic success among Latino youth through the guidance and support of one-to-one mentoring relationships with measurable impact. HSF recruits and invites its 44,000 scholarship recipients and alumni providing a volunteer stream of Hispanic Bigs to augment a population that is presently under-represented in Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer pools. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a vehicle for volunteerism to HSF scholars and alumni as a service learning opportunity that can strengthen current scholars’ options for post-secondary advancement.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and HENAAC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on April 13, 2008. HSF President & CEO, Frank Alvarez and HENAAC Chair & CEO, Ray Mellado agree that by leveraging their organizations strengths they can greatly increase the number of Hispanics earning a college degree with a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math major. This cooperative effort between HENAAC and HSF shall be referred to as the HSF/HENAAC Alliance and it will allow both organizations to expand opportunities and programs available to the Hispanic community.

A Federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded usually only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or a professional degree. (In some cases, however, a student enrolled in a post-baccalaureate teacher certification program might receive a Pell Grant.) Pell Grants are considered a foundation of federal financial aid, to which aid from other federal and nonfederal sources might be added.

- International Financial Aid and College Scholarship Search

- The National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant
(National SMART Grant) http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/SmartGrants.jspThe National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant, also known as the National Smart Grant is available during the third and fourth years of undergraduate study to full-time students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and who are majoring in physical, life, or computer sciences, mathematics, technology, or engineering or in a foreign language determined critical to national security. The student must also be enrolled in the courses necessary to complete the degree program and to fulfill the requirements of the intended eligible major in addition to maintaining a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 in coursework required for the major. The National SMART Grant award is in addition to the student's Pell Grant award.
