GSA Proposes Revised Mail Management RegulationGSA #9832 June 18, 2001
The proposed regulation is intended to provide a framework for federal mail communications in the future by improving how mail is processed and saving mail service processing time and tax dollars. Under the new regulations, federal agencies would need to: Restructure their financial systems to drive cost to the user level by October 1, 2002. Driving costs to the user level provides an incentive for federal agencies to improve how they process mail. For comments to be considered in the formulation of the final rule, they must be received by July 30, 2001. Comments should be sent to: Michael E. Hopkins, Regulatory Secretariat (MVRS), Federal Acquisition Policy Division, General Services Administration, 1800 F Street, NW., Washington, DC 20405 or by e-mail to: RIN.3090-AH13@gsa.gov.
