GSA Launches Customer Satisfaction SurveyGSA # 9885 October 3, 2001
GSA hopes the survey will provide a better understanding about how Federal workers in more than 3,500 federally-owned and leased federal locations would rate their building and office environment, building services and procedures, building security, building management staff, and overall level of satisfaction. "GSA is committed to client satisfaction in all aspects of building services. These surveys allow us to identify areas of concern to our clients and make improvements which meet or exceed their expectations," said F. Joseph Moravec, Commissioner of GSA's Public Buildings Service. Results of last year's survey indicated a steady rise in overall satisfaction with 81% of respondents giving the agency a positive rating. Previous surveys have consistently generated helpful feedback and have guided changes in building management and operations ranging from repairs to elevators and fire systems to the construction of new fitness centers and cafeterias. Recognized as one of the world's largest management consulting firms, The Gallup Organization will prepare, conduct and tabulate the survey, thus ensuring confidentiality and impartiality. Survey participants must return completed surveys to The Gallup Organization by November 20, 2001. The survey is confidential and usually takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Since 1993, the agency has received more than 590,000 responses. GSA is a centralized federal procurement and property management agency created by Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. It acquires, on behalf of federal agencies, office space, equipment, telecommunications, information technology, supplies and services. GSA, comprised of 14,000 associates, provides services and solutions for the office operations of over 1 million federal workers located in 8,300 government -owned and leased buildings in 1,600 U.S. communities.
