PO Staff Overview

The Program Office Director is a member of the NIST Senior Management Board and serves as an advisor to the NIST Director and Deputy Director. The Office’s staff include:

  • Rotating technologists from the NIST Operating Units;
  • Program and Policy Analysts;
  • Economic Analysts; and
  • Support Staff

The rotating staff bring into the Director's Office fresh and varying perspectives from the line organizations and a continuing stream of new information, energy, and creativity. A tour within the Program Office provides a unique development opportunity for NIST staff. Through their work, this staff become broadly and deeply knowledgeable about NIST, its interactions with the rest of government, and its relationships to industry and other organizations. Program Office alumni are a resource for NIST and for their home organizations, and many former analysts have moved into management positions.
