Doan Testifies Before U.S. House Small Business CommitteeGSA #10384 August 2, 2007 Washington, DC – U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Lurita Doan today testified before the U.S. House Small Business Committee regarding the GSA commitment to creating small and disadvantaged businesses opportunities to succeed. On a national level, GSA has significantly increased its spending on small businesses to $1.7 billion. “GSA is committed to supporting small and disadvantaged businesses across the country. For example, during the past year, 62 percent of all contracting dollars spent by GSA in the Gulf region were awarded to small businesses,” said Doan. “I know from experience that the single, most important element to ensure small businesses success is a favorable business environment that rewards and encourages entrepreneurs.” Specifically, GSA is working to:
