Washington, DC -- The U.S. General Services Administration announced today it is adding cellular and pager services to its Federal Supply Schedules program.
GSA's Federal Supply Service (FSS) in partnership with GSA's Federal Technology Service (FTS) announced modifications to the FSS IT Multiple Award Schedule, FSC Group 70 to accept offers for commercially available mobile voice (cellular) and pager services. These services had previously been excluded from the Schedules Program.
Cellular and paging services are currently provided by FTS through multiple regional and national IDIQ contracts. With these modifications, cellular and paging services will also be available through the FSS Schedules Program. This action will increase the availability of state-of-the-art wireless technology at competitive prices.
FSS Commissioner Frank Pugliese and FTS Commissioner Dennis Fischer joined in praising the benefits of this change. Commissioner Pugliese said, "This move is a clear example of how GSA is staying competitive, responding to changes in the market and making it easier for Federal users to meet their information technology needs." Commissioner Fischer said, "Use of the schedules to provide cellular service provides another vehicle to thrill our customers and to ensure that the most up-to-date wireless products and services are available at competitive prices."
GSA celebrated its 50th anniversary on July 1. It is an executive branch agency that provides policy leadership and expertly managed space, products, services and solutions at the best value to enable Federal employees to accomplish their mission. FSS provides products and services to customer agencies through four business lines: supply and procurement, vehicle acquisition and leasing services, travel and transportation, and personal property management. GSA's information technology and telecommunications services are provided by FTS, which delivers reimbursable local and long-distance telecommunications, information technology, and information security services to Federal agencies. Both FTS and FSS provide a total solution for information technology to meet customer agency needs.
