FTS Awards SAP and PeopleSoft Contracts Under FMSS ScheduleGSA #9562 February 11, 1999 WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service (FTS) has awarded two new contracts under the Financial Management Systems Software (FMSS) Schedule to SAP American Public Sector, Inc. of Washington, DC, and PeopleSoft USA, Inc. of Bethesda, MD. The FMSS Schedule is designed to provide agencies with a mechanism to purchase Joint Financial Management Improvement Program (JFMIP)-approved core accounting systems. There are currently 11 industrial partners available on the FMSS Schedule, which promotes partnership between GSA, other Federal agencies, and the schedule contractors. The awards to SAP and PeopleSoft were made only after extensive testing of the vendors' core accounting systems to ensure compliance with core JFMIP requirements. When the FMSS Schedule expires on September 30, 1999, agencies may purchase "certified systems" on the Group 70, IT Solutions Schedule. Moving the FMSS contracts to the IT Solutions Schedule will simplify the purchasing process, reduce lead times, and reduce the overall cost of procurement. The web address for the IT Solutions schedule is http://pub.fss.gsa.gov/it For additional information, contact Kathy Wood, Office of Information Technology Integration, at (703) 605-9779 or kathy.wood@gsa.gov.
