"Know Your Customer" is the guiding principle for
the NWS Customer Outreach Program. The NWS customers are the American taxpayer
and the business community. Our goal is to support the NWS mission by ensuring
an educated customer, who takes actions in order to reduce their risk to
extreme weather events. In order to reach our customers, the NWS develops
partnerships with government agencies, academia and commercial companies
who have a similar mission. The elements of the NWS Customer Outreach Program
