person in puzzleThe King County Jobs Initiative (KCJI) helps people get and keep living wage jobs. KCJI provides vocational training, job placement, and support services for limited income adults. Most KCJI clients live in the South King County neighborhoods of White Center and Skyway. Our clients are also ex-offenders who are referred to KCJI through the King County criminal justice system.

KCJI services are provided by organizations with experience in job training and with long time ties to the community. Account Executives from these organizations provide clients with support and guidance. They help clients find jobs that pay at least $9 an hour, ideally with health benefits. Account Executives continue working with their clients for one year after job placement. Support services for clients includes transportation, childcare and emergency services.

KCJI also works closely with employers, helping to place skilled workers in targeted industries, and KCJI develops customized training to address shortages of skilled workers. If you are a potential employer, we encourage you to hire a KCJI client.
