The Digital Bridge Technology Academy provides technology training to low-income, “at-risk” youth. Digital Bridge Technology Academy adheres to the philosophy that providing access to technology and computer training for youth, traditionally under-served within our community, is fundamental to bridging the Digital Divide.
![Students in Skills Lab](Photos/DigitalBridge/SkillsLab.JPG) The Digital Bridge Technology Academy is a collaboration of partner organizations and agencies serving out-reach sites, inter-agency schools, and learning centers operating at three main locations and 10 ancillary sites. The program is for students between the ages of 16 to 21 who have dropped out of high school and are currently working to earn a high school diploma or G.E.D. The Digital Bridge team encourages youth to explore new technology and careers through participation in hands-on classes, workshops, guest speakers, job shadow opportunities, field trips, service learning, and internships.
Digital Bridge Technology Academy opened its doors in April 2003. Since then we have provided services to thirteen sites around Seattle. We have reached hundreds of youth in the Seattle area and have been successful in providing the technical tools that are so critical for our students’ future.

Advanced occupational skills trainings are six-months in length with an opportunity to participate in a 3-month subsidized internship upon completion of the training.
![student at computer](Photos/DigitalBridge/computerwork.jpg) A fundamental component of the Digital Bridge Technology Academy is service learning. Our students have installed and maintain computer labs at multiple learning centers and community centers throughout Seattle. Additionally, Digital Bridge students regularly volunteer at the InterConnection Computer Reuse and Learning Center (external). InterConnection provides refurbished computers to non-profit organizations locally and abroad. Digital Bridge Technology Academy is proud to be a part of their efforts.
