The Dislocated Worker Program is a comprehensive reemployment program,
and is one of several customized employment services available at
WorkSource Renton. The Dislocated Worker Program helps people who
have lost their jobs through company downsizing or plant closures
find employment. It also helps businesses find productive workers.
Teams of program specialists, career counselors and job developers
provide a variety of reemployment and training services to help dislocated
workers get back to work. Dislocated workers and other job seekers
needing personalized assistance in finding work may qualify for these
WorkSource Renton services:
- Assessment of career needs, skills and abilities, program eligibility,
etc
- Career counseling
- Case management and an individualized employment/training plan
- Basic skills resources for ESL, GED, etc.
- Job readiness training
- Individualized job placement assistance
- Follow up after employment to support career and wage progression
- Scholarships to pay for training in eligible programs at approved
schools
- Pre-employment training with employers who need additional trained
employees
- Coordination with your current employer to identify and pay for
training that will increase your ability to obtain a better job
within the organization
