In addition, the company will offer the parent curriculum to employees, incorporate We Can! into its “Take Your Child to Work Day,” and feature We Can! on its consumer Web site.

National Partners
We are very proud of our organizational partners including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which is publishing an article on We Can! in the January issue of Chapter Connection, a newsletter for AAP Chapter leaders. We Can! will also be featured in an upcoming issue of AAP News, which is sent to its 60,000 members.

Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) is working to connect state leaders with We Can! Intensive Sites. Recently, We Can! coordinated a call between several Intensive Sites and AFHK State Team Leaders to expand our collaborative programming.

Nemours Foundation co-branded the parent handbook and is distributing it throughout Delaware.

We are pleased to welcome these groups to the We Can! family. And, we look forward to their continued efforts to provide We Can! information to their employees, customers, and members. We Can! plans to add more corporate partners this year and will continue to let you know how we are growing!

Our goal for 2007 is to continue this impressive growth over the course of the next year, and we’d like to ask you to help us achieve our goal.

If you haven’t signed up to be a We Can! community site, please visit our Web site and learn how easy it is to join the We Can! movement. The program is flexible and can be implemented in a variety settings.

We are pleased to announce that We Can! will extend its reach across the country by hosting regional trainings this spring during the second week of May. Just like the dynamic Rally that we hosted in October 2006, we invite you to join us for these information sharing and networking summits. Parents Program Participants Call for “Family Night at the Track"
The East Penn School District site in Emmaus , PA , is one of the 26 We Can! sites established by the Pennsylvania Advocates for Nutrition and Physical Activity (PANA), a statewide coalition seeking environmental changes in communities, schools, and healthcare settings. When the Emmaus site implemented the parent curriculm, it experienced an unanticipated result -- participants approached the school board to request public access to the high school’s track. The participants want to establish “Family Night at the Track,” weekly events for families to walk or run to music. Their new program garnered media coverage in the East Penn and Salisbury School District newsletter.

CHOICES in Georgia joins forces with We Can!!
A new site in Kennesaw, GA , the Center Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully (CHOICES), kicked off its programming by presenting We Can! during its “Twilight on Childhood Obesity” evening event. They showcased the We Can! video along with their other community-based activities. The program combines the six-week We Can! parent curriculum with the existing CHOICES Fitness Challenge program that averages 30 participants and owes its success to strong partnerships with medical practices, fitness centers, local schools, and other recreational organizations. CHOICES is partnering with Atlanta YMCAs and has been working diligently to promote its programs.

Tennessee site partners with faith-based organization
The Northeast Tennessee Minority Resource Network, a new community site in Johnson City, is coordinating its efforts through faith-based organization outreach. Working with a network of churches, community-based organizations and Park and Recreation Departments, the Johnson City site has been working with each group’s health ministry team to assess health education needs. This February, the site will offer We Can! for youth and families through four churches, highlighting American Heart Month to the congregations that are already involved in the American Heart Association’s cardiovascular health program for adults. They will leverage We Can! to reach community youth.
