Postdoctoral Fellowships — Postdoctoral research fellowships at the NIEHS may be funded for up to five years, and funding opportunities depend on the research area, citizenship, experience and previous training. Visa assistance is available for international applications. In 2007, the NIEHS was voted #7 on the list of "Best Places to Work for Postdocs" in the United States by an international survey of postdoctoral scientists. The NIEHS has been voted in the top ten of this ranking for four consecutive years.
Fellowships in Environmental Medicine for Medical Students (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/careers/research/med-students/index.cfm) — The Fellowships in Environmental Medicine for Medical Students is a one-year program that allows medical students to participate in laboratory, epidemiological or clinical research related to environmental health issues. Summers of Discovery Program (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/careers/research/summers/index.cfm) — The NIEHS established the Summers of Discovery Program to provide research internships for outstanding high school students, college students and faculty interested in pursuing careers in the biomedical and biological sciences.
