The following table lists the nicknames of announced natural gas and oil deepwater discoveries and fields for active leases in the Gulf of Mexico.  Wells are listed as discoveries until the lease on which they are drilled qualifies under MMS regulations as capable of producing in paying quantities.  These new producible leases are then designated as a new field or assigned to an existing field.  This listing of nicknames provides the location (lease, area and block), the water depth and the current operator.
