The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operation, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of computer systems, electronics, communications, and facilities that support the weather and hydrological programs in the Central Region. These include the WSR-88D Doppler Radars, Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio (NWR), the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area communications networks and services, and buildings, grounds, towers and other NWS-owned facilities.
