New Regulations To Go into Effect May 1, 2002

NMFS Northeast Region N E W SGloucester, Mass. -- The Secretary of Commerce has approved an interim final rule to implement restrictions to reduce overfishing on Northeast groundfish stocks, beginning May 1 and continuing at least through July 31, 2002. A permit holder letter describing the restrictions is available here.These measures could change through a federal court decision expected on April 26, 2002. |
