NMFS Northeast Region N E W SGloucester, Mass. -- Some of the parties in the ongoing remedy phase of a lawsuit concerning the management of northeastern groundfish have notified the court they have reached a settlement agreement. Not all parties have agreed to the settlement. At present, those who have not agreed have until noon April 19 to respond to the settlement, and settling parties have until 4PM April 22 to respond to briefs filed Friday.NOAA Fisheries intends to file an interim action as agreed to in the settlement agreement on or about April 24, although the final measures to resolve the case can still be changed by further court action.
