Laboratory hosting marketing workshop

LOS ALAMOS, N.M., February 17, 1999 — The Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory is hosting the "Marketing Essentials for High-tech Ventures Workshop" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Hotel Loretto in Santa Fe.

The workshop ­- sponsored by Los Alamos' Technology and Commercialization Office ­- is intended for Laboratory scientists, entrepreneurs, business owners and others who have new technologies or business ideas and want learn more about the latest marketing tools and resources available to them. The keynote speaker is William Ingram, chief executive officer of Nuera Communications, Inc. in San Diego, Calif.

The workshop also features "lessons learned" talks from successful entrepreneurs, including Hank LeMieux, CEO of Panorama Point in Santa Fe; Bill Wiedemann, founder and executive vice president of Red Creek Communications in San Jose, Calif.; and Tim Thompson, vice president of Hytec, Inc. in Los Alamos.
