Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

FOR TODAY AND TONIGHT, SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD FROM THE MOUNTAINS NEAR THE WYOMING BORDER INTO THE CENTRAL COLORADO MOUNTAINS BY THIS AFTERNOON. ON THE PLAINS ISOLATED SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE EXPECTED, MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON. WHILE MOST OF THE STORMS WILL PRODUCE ONLY LIGHT RAIN AND WIND GUSTS TO 35 MPH, THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON IN AREAS EAST OF STERLING AND AKRON. IN THIS AREA THERE WILL BE MORE MOISTURE AND A FAVORABLE WIND STRUCTURE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. THE MAIN THREAT FROM STORMS IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF COLORADO WILL BE HAIL TO AROUND AN INCH IN DIAMETER. HOWEVER, DAMAGING WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE, AND THERE IS A LOW THREAT OF TORNADOS AS WELL. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL END FROM WEST TO EAST THIS EVENING AS DRIER AIR MOVES INTO THE AREA. FOR MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, ANOTHER WEAK DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN COLORADO LATE MONDAY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND FAR EASTERN PLAINS. DRIER AND WARMER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED TODAY OR TONIGHT.

A Graphical Nowcast also is in effect.
