Dr. King has been at the National Library of Medicine as Deputy Director of Research and Education since September 2002. He received his MD from Syracuse University College of Medicine in 1949 and completed his Pathology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in the City of New York, served in the Medical Corps of the United States Army, and held a fellowship at the Carlsberg Laboratory in Denmark. He then was a member of the faculty at Yale University, University of Colorado, Columbia University, and the University of Chicago. He has also served as a member of Advisory Committees for the NIH, Veterans Administration, various private foundations, and Pathology societies.
