Research Associate - Requires a Ph.D. in engineering, physics or a related field. Guided by senior scientists and engineers, The successful candidate will perform the definition, analysis, specification and troubleshooting of high power klystron amplifiers and high voltage power supplies; Expertise with test and measurement equipment, in particular network and spectrum analyzers is required. The candidate is expected to be familiar with finite element electromagnetic field solvers and will assist in the modeling of coupling aperture in SCRF cavity; assist with and perform analysis of hybrid combining vs. cavity combining of 4 IOT amplifiers. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the booster cavity tuner feedback loop modifications and cavity field controller tests and may include the design of a cavity based high power combiner using the finite element codes Microwave Studio or Superfish, performing bead perturbation electromagnetic field measurements of landau copper cavity model for SBIR and assisting in the development of the frequency up / down conversion system for the cavity controllers.
