The Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with
learning disabilities and their families. LDA encourages effective identification and intervention, fosters research, and protects the rights of individuals with
learning disabilities under the law. The association is an information and referral service for both parents and professionals. Information packets are available on any type of learning disability. LDA, which has more than 300
local chapters across the country, sponsors an annual conference and offers membership. Professional journals, news briefs, and brochures are available. Some Spanish materials are available.
