Speaker Biographies

Heather Carter-Young

Ms. Heather Carter-Young is a Policy Analyst in the Food and Nutrition Policy & Consumer Behaviors Program at RTI International. Ms. Carter-Young conducts research to design and evaluate consumer education programs and labeling messages on food safety. She has expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, telephone surveys, and Web-enabled panel surveys. At RTI, she contributes to studies funded by the USDA, FSIS and the FDA on food safety issues. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
