Hello,

I am a student currently studying adult literacy at San Jose State
University.  I am working on a workshop to train learners to be mentors
for new learners.  I believe that new learners may feel more comfortable
expressing their fears and frustrations with an experienced learner who
has gone through some of the same experiences.  Having this support system
may lead to better retention.

I would be grateful for any input or information availableon this topic.
Also, I am interested in any research that has been done in this area.
