I am Janet Burroughs, cofounder and program director of Learning English Adult Program, Inc. in New York City. We offer free ESL to adults immigrants and refugees living in NYC. Since we have 3 levels of English classes I am very interested in the issue of literarcy both as a practioner. Adult literacy has been of major interest to me for many years.
