At our campus, we teach levels from basic literacy through high school completion to second year university, as well as a selection of vocational programs and community education classes. Our campus is on First Nations land, and co-operation between the Cowichan Tribes and the College has grown over the years so that now we have a real First Nations presence in the classrooms and the hallways. What do I need to do my job better?? --reading material that is interesting to my students, not too American, and an end to poverty, sexism and racism. I have written some texts in basic science for basic readers, and am the editor of Making Connections: Literacy and EAL Curriculum from a Feminist Perspective, published a couple of years ago by the Canadian Council on Learning Opportunities for Women. I like getting the mail on this list serve, although I often find myself swamped. I like to know who's doing what, even if I don't have time to follow up all the interesting trails that present themselves. Kate Nonesuch
