Literacy in Afghanistan
EDC is looking for a team leader to lead a literacy program development effort in Afghanistan. The posting runs from January - June 2006. See below for the qualifications needed. If you're interested, contact me, Barb Garner, at b.garner4@verizon.net

Qualifications include:
+ Significant and practical technical experience rooted in state-of-the-art theory of non-formal literacy instruction in general and curriculum development in particular. 
+ Experience working with rural populations in a community development context.
+ Field experience in Afghanistan or central Asia preferred (but not mandatory). 
+ Excellent management, organizational, and communication skills. 
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate in complex situations across cultures.
+ Experience in participatory community development programs.
+ Excellent writing skills
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Skills in research and assessment, data collection, survey administration and interviews.
+ Ability to work independently and as a team member.
