November 29, 2004 — WilmingtonSenator Carper spoke with the Young Democrats and Young Republicans of the Charter School of Wilmington. The senator talked about the elections, how their outcomes will change the makeup of Congress and how Democrats and Republicans can work together to get things accomplished in Washington.
November 24, 2004 — DoverSenator Carper volunteered and distributed turkeys at Tabernacle Church, a Food Bank of Delaware distribution center. Over 80 baskets were distributed in the Dover area in 2004.
November 24, 2004 — DoverSenator Caper helped ring in the holiday season by volunteering for the Salvation Army as a Christmas kettle bell ringer at Safeway. The Salvation Army annually aids more than 4,500,000 people at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
November 23, 2004 — FrankfordSenator Carper visited Frankford Elementary School and met with students and teachers. The United States Department of Education recently announced that Frankford Elementary School was named a National Blue Ribbon school under No Child Left Behind.
November 23, 2004 — GeorgetownSenator Carper met with families at the Parent Information Center. Previously, Senator Carper, along with the rest of the Delaware Delegation, had announced that PIC was awarded a $1,071,500 grant over five years. With this grant, the PIC was able to provide greater outreach to Hispanic parents of children with disabilities living in Kent and Sussex Counties.
November 23, 2004 — GeorgetownSenator Carper visited the CHEER Community Center to have Thanksgiving lunch with several hundred seniors.
November 23, 2004 — GeorgetownSenator Carper was a guest lecturer at Delaware Technical and Community College's Georgetown Campus. Senator Carper talked with students from the economics, communications and business departments about the roles of elected officials, including United States Representative, State Treasurer, Governor and United States Senator.
November 22, 2004Senator Carper donated blood to remind others of the importance of blood donation during the holiday season and to give Ohio State University a point. The Big Ten Blood Drive took place in Delaware in November, where Penn State, Ohio State and University of Michigan local alumni donated to see who had the most school spirit.
November 12, 2004Senator Carper, invited by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, participated in announcing an exciting new project called Destination Station. The Center is comprised of an Energy Exploratorium, Visitor Service and Transit Center. The Educational Mission of the Energy Exploratorium is to inform visitors of all ages about energy principles and wise use of energy resources through an engaging, interactive exhibit program.
November 9, 2004 — CamdenSenator Carper congratulated 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year Kathleen Thomas of Caesar Rodney High School. Thomas has been teaching for 20 years and currently teaches marketing education. Chosen from among 19 teachers who won teacher of the year honors in their districts, Thomas was the first teacher from Caesar Rodney School District to win the title in the program's 41 years.
