Senator Carper met with employees from Kent-Sussex Industries. KSI offers vocational rehabilitation services to approximately 260 people every year who are in need of assistance to obtain and maintain jobs. Senator Carper is a long-time supporter of KSI - all three of his state offices use KSI remanufactured computer and fax toner cartridges.
Senator Carper tours two lighthouses by boat September 10, 2004
Senator Carper took a boat tour to two lighthouses off the coast of Delaware. Recently, the senator unveiled a proposal to establish a National Park in Delaware - the only state without one. The Harbor of Light Refuge and Breakwater Lighthouse are existing attractions to which a National Park interpretive center would guide and direct visitors. Senator Carper visits Kuumba Academy September 7, 2004 — Wilmington
Senator Carper visited the Kuumba Academy Charter School. Kuumba Academy received a superior school rating under "No Child Left Behind." The senator congratulated the students on their achievements, ate lunch with them and met with teachers, parents and board members.
