Consolidated Information Center

WSU Tri-Cities' Consolidated Information Center was built for the people of this region to not only provide easier access to a vast library collection, but also as a catalyst to boost the local economy.

The CIC houses the Consolidated Library that includes the combined collections of the WSU Tri-Cities Max Benitz Library and the Hanford Technical Library. The Hanford Technical Library is managed by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy.  The DOE Public Reading Room, also managed by PNNL, is part of the Consolidated Library.

Business LINKS business assistance center, classrooms, a museum and exhibit space are also all located in the CIC Building.

The CIC also has a Natural History Museum containing collections that include fossil wood, the flora and fauna from this area, an extensive rock and minerals collection as well as the widely recognized, and on-line accessible, Archerd Shell Collection.

.The CIC assists in Hanford site remediation by providing easy access to WSU and Hanford Technical Library resources. Its classrooms have state-of-the-art telecommunications capabilities. In addition, the Business LINKS center provides the region with a comprehensive business and entrepreneurial marketing and referral services.
