Question: How do I get full text journal articles?
Answer:
There are several ways to get full text articles. You may be charged, however, to view and print these articles.
Full text options in PubMed:
- Open Limits menu in PubMed, and select “Links to full text”, then run search strategy.
For a list of full text journals in PubMed, go to the Linkout journal list at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/linkout/journals/jourlists.cgi?
- Click on publisher icon in Abstract View and go directly to the publisher’s Web site

Other free full text options:
- PubMed Central is a free digital archive of full-text journal articles kept by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Go to http://pubmedcentral.nih.gov/
- Free from the publisher. A few publishers will provide free access to articles after you register as a guest.
- For more suggestions, go to Free Biomedical Literature Resources at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/docline/freehealthlit.html
Order from document delivery companies.
