What is meant by Best Value?

Task orders are awarded against GSA schedule contracts based on the product or solution that provides the best value to the government. Best value determinations are intended to ensure that the government makes good business decisions by the using factors other than price, such as the probable life of the item selected, environmental and energy efficiency considerations, technical qualifications of schedule holders. Also, the government considers the special features of the supply or service required for effective program performance, such as trade-in considerations, warranty considerations and maintenance availability.
