Witnesses say Sgt. Rafael Peralta covered a grenade with his body to save comrades nearly four years ago during fighting in Fallujah, Iraq. Instead of receiving the Medal of Honor, he was awarded the Navy Cross, the second-highest medal the Navy can bestow for valor. Now, Peralta's mother and a bipartisan group of lawmakers want to know why he was denied the nation's highest military honor. full story
