Numerous large wildfires are scorching the western United States in June. Firefighters in Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico are battling several large fires, including the 100,000+ acre Hayman Fire southwest of Denver, Colorado.

This Landsat image of the area of the Hayman fire in Colorado was taken in the summer of 2001. Vegetation appears red in the false-color image.
