Public Schedule for the Week of July 7-12, 2008

July 7, Governor Lingle will sign bills that support efforts to protect Hawai`i's natural and cultural resources and strengthen enforcement of environmental laws.

July 10, Governor Lingle will meet with Consul General Carlos Felix Corona of the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco.

July 10, Governor Lingle will attend a performance of the Honolulu Boy Choir.  The event is an opportunity for the organization to thank the community for its support and financial contributions that have allowed the Honolulu Boy Choir to reorganize and rebuild its membership.  In 2006, upon hearing about the financial difficulties and the possibility of the choir's dissolution, the Governor's office worked with the organization to find ways for the State to assist, including a $150,000 grant.

July 12, Governor Lingle will join the Hawai`i Masons and Plasterers union in honoring the winners of the 18th Annual Hawai‘i State & 11th Invitational Apprenticeship Contest for Bricklayers, Masons, Cement Finishers, Plasterers and Tile Setters.
