Public Schedule for the Week of August 4-9, 2008

August 6, Governor Lingle will discuss state issues on her monthly radio show from 7:05 - 8:00 a.m. HST.  Listeners are invited to call 808-521-8383 from O‘ahu or 888-565-8383 from the Neighbor Islands with questions and comments.  The show can be heard live statewide on O‘ahu (KHVH 830 AM), Maui/Kona (KAOI 1110 AM), Hilo (KPUA 670 AM), and Kaua‘i (KONG 570 AM).  

August 8, Governor Lingle and the Hawai`i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts will present awards for distinguished achievement in culture, arts and humanities.  The honorees include: Agnes Conrad and Barbara Smith, who will receive the Governor's Award for Distinguished Achievement in Culture, Arts and Humanities; and Deborah Nehmad and Laura Ruby, recipients of the Individual Artist Fellowship in Visual Arts. 

August 9, Governor Lingle will honor KSSK radio personalities Michael W. Perry and Larry Price as they celebrate 25 years of on the air. 

August 9, The Governor will participate in a Discover Gardening event coordinated by University of Hawai`i at Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources.  The event is designed to teach residents how to grow fruits and vegetables in home gardens, which can help offset the rising cost of groceries.
