The marriage calculator provides information on the financial implications of marriage for low-income couples. It applies federal and state-specific tax and transfer rules so couples can find out what their net income would be if they live apart, marry or cohabit. While some couples would increase their net income from marrying, others would face financial penalties. The calculator provides a tool to make these consequences transparent.
As the hurricane season continues, it’s imperative that we assist the children and families in need. ACF has implemented the Disaster Case Management Demonstration Program to assist the victims of natural disasters. www.acf.hhs.gov/opa.
