The Social Security Administration (SSA) was once again represented
at the 92 nd Annual PA Farm Show held at the Farm Show Complex
in Harrisburg, PA. The Farm Show ran from January 5 th through
January 12 th and is the largest indoor show of its kind in the
country. The show was attended this year by nearly half a million
people who viewed or participated in the many activities available
throughout the week. This event has a live rodeo, a vast selection
of local foods, square dancing contests, best of show prizes for
a variety of categories of farm animals, crafts and much more.
One of the many impressive exhibits at the show was an almost life-size
sculpture of a small school bus with four children and a cow – all
made from 900 pounds of butter!
SSA hosted an exhibit at the Farm Show for the entire event as part
of its community outreach. The exhibit was staffed by local field
office representatives who were there to answer the many questions
posed by people who attend the show. Informational pamphlets on SSA
benefits and programs, and message products advertising online services,
the toll-free number and the SSA
website were handed out throughout the week
