As our nation celebrates the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we pay tribute to our founding fathers who laid the foundation for peace, liberty and equality.

And we honor those today who wear the uniform and sacrifice so that we may live in freedom. But let us not forget the everyday American heroes who raise their voices on behalf of others.

Many in our community are working to help those who suffer from hopelessness and despair. Those who yearn to break free from the cycle of poverty, homelessness and abuse.

Let us celebrate the values of justice and democracy that make our country strong, and renew our commitment to advancing these ideals for future generations at home and around the world.
