I was proud to deliver my fourth State of the State Address and to outline my Administration’s priorities for this legislative session.

Thanks to the hard work of all Hawai`i residents and sound fiscal management, we are enjoying a vibrant economy and healthy state revenues.

Now is the right time to use this prosperity to offset the rising cost of living, meet the state’s needs, and invest in our future.

Along with a comprehensive tax relief package, I am proposing initiatives to provide more affordable housing, improve public education, create safer communities, enhance healthcare, protect the environment, support energy self-sufficiency, and prepare for natural disasters and emergencies.

It’s not a matter of choosing one of these priorities over the other.

I believe we have a chance to literally have it all.

By working together we can ensure that our prosperity continues.

Mahalo.  This is Governor Linda Lingle.
