Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act of 2002 (CIPSEA)

  • CIPSEA [PDF] is Title V of the E-Government Act of 2002, Public Law 107-347, that was signed into law on December 17, 2002
    • CIPSEA [PDF] Subtitle A, Confidential Information Protection, affords a new level of confidentiality protection to statistical data and information collected for exclusively statistical purposes by Federal agencies
    • CIPSEA [PDF] Subtitle B, Statistical Efficiency, deals with the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Bureau of Economic Analysis sharing business data for exclusively statistical purposes
