Senior Information Line

Do you have questions about the services that are available to you as a senior? Or, are you a caregiver searching for services to help your parents or other relatives/friends? Call us ( 764-6400 ) or visit us at the Senior Information Line, your one-stop senior information phone line and resource center. We help link seniors to appropriate community services throughout metropolitan Albuquerque, and provide information, assessment, referral, assistance, and literature. Information is available on topics such as disabilities programs, caregiver resources and benefit and assistance programs.

Age Requirements

Many of the Department of Senior Affairs' programs have a minimum age requirement of 50 to participate. Some of our other programs, including home-delivered meals, transportation, care coordination, senior day services, which are funded by the Older American's Act, have a minimum age of 60.

Suggested Contribution Schedule

Please keep in mind that donations are requested for some services. However, no one will be denied services if he or she chooses not to contribute.

Our contribution schedule is as follows:

  • Exercise Programs: 50¢ per one-hour session
  • Home Chores Program: $5.50 per hour of service
  • Home Retrofit/Repair Program: $11.25 per hour of service (materials extra)
  • Transportation Program: $2.50 per round-trip
  • Meals: The Department of Senior Affairs requests contributions of $2.00 per home-delivered and congregate meal at Barelas, North Valley, Los Volcanes, and Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Centers for those 60 and older. It is suggested that persons 55-59 contribute $2.00 per meal, and those 55 and under pay $5.00. Reservations are required for meals and transporation. Menus and calendars of activities are available at each Senior Center or meal site. For additional information, you may call 764-6400.
