Welcome to the...Safeguards & Security Division (SSD)Mission Statement - To protect DOE special nuclear materials, classified matter, sensitive information, and property against theft, diversion, or destruction; to prevent the sabotage of programs that could result in significant scientific or financial impact; to prevent the malevolent release of hazardous materials including radiological, chemical, and infectious agents or other criminal acts that would endanger employees, the public, and the environment. Vision Statement - It is the vision of the Safeguards and Security Division to continually improve in providing the Laboratory with security services that are efficient, cost effective, and serve the best interests of our customers and stakeholders. This is accomplished with a trained and dedicated professional staff and protective force, providing a high degree of assurance and support.
