GOV. RITTER SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT AND IDEAS FOR GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY PROJECT

Gov. Bill Ritter today launched a new e-mail address, toll-free phone number and web site for the public to offer ideas aimed at improving government efficiency and accountability.

"It's important for me and my administration to hear directly from the people of Colorado about how we can make government more effective and reliable," Gov. Ritter said. "Since we kicked off the Government Efficiency and Management Performance Review earlier this year, we've received many good ideas from the men and women who work for state government. Now we want to hear from the citizens of Colorado."

People can submit ideas to the Government Efficiency and Management (GEM) project hotline by calling toll free at 1-877-397-0013, e-mailing gem.ideas@state.co.us, or by filling out an on-line form by clicking here. People also can visit the Government Efficiency page on the Governor's website (colorado.gov/governor).

Gov. Ritter initiated the GEM review earlier this year. The review is a top-to-bottom look at how state government operates and how it can be improved to deliver services more efficiently and cost-effectively to the people of Colorado. The review already has identified $145 million in savings and other benefits.
