SIX NOMINEES CONFIRMED BY SENATE FOR CABINET POSTS

The state Senate today confirmed six of Gov. Ritter's executive director nominees. They are:

Commissioner of Agriculture John R. Stulp
Executive Director of the Department of Higher Education/Colorado Commission on Higher Education David Skaggs
Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment Donald J. Mares
Executive Director of the Department of Human Services Karen Legault Beye
Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety Peter A. Weir
Executive Director of the Department of Corrections Ari Zavaras

"This is a great day for Colorado. These six talented, dedicated and innovative leaders become the first official members of my Cabinet, and now they can get busy fulfilling the Colorado Promise for the people of this great state," Ritter said. "I would like to thank Senate President Fitz-Gerald, the Senate confirmation committees and the entire Senate for their speedy action on the confirmation proceedings."
