FIRST LADY TAKES MENTAL HEALTH LISTENING TOUR TO SUMMIT, LAKE, PITKIN AND PARK COUNTIES

Colorado First Lady Jeannie Ritter takes her statewide outreach tour on mental health to the mountains this week. The First Lady will be meeting with community groups and mental health care providers in Summit, Lake, Pitkin and Park counties Wednesday through Friday.

This is the fifth community trip the First Lady has undertaken to draw attention to and remove the stigma from mental health care treatment. Previous tours have taken her to the Western Slope and the northeast, southeast and northwestern corners of the state.

"What I've learned is that the needs in every community are different," the First Lady said. "Resources are often available. We need to encourage people to utilize these resources just as you would any other aspect of health care. If we can just listen and keep linking arms, we can make a difference."
