Concert Featuring Cellist Raman Ramakrishnan at Brookhaven Lab January 30

UPTON, NY - Raman Ramakrishnan, cellist of the Daedalus Quartet, will perform master works of the cello accompanied by noted pianist Byron Schenkman on Wednesday, January 30. The two will appear in concert at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory at noon in Berkner Hall. Sponsored by Brookhaven Science Associates, the company that manages Brookhaven Lab, the concert is free and open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.

Ramakrishnan is a member of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble and has collaborated with musicians from the Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra and performed in New Delhi and Agra, India and Cairo, Egypt. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard University and a master's in music from The Juilliard School.
